How to get more use out of your summer house
As we all know the UK weather means we don’t get as much time in the garden as we’d like but there are some practical ways to get a longer use from your summer house. Here’s our top tips –
- Add a wood burning stove – This is a great addition and makes the summer house a nice place to sit on a cooler evening with the fire keeping you warm – Just make sure its professionally installed for your own safety.
- Add insulation – We’ve seen summer houses converted with insulation and plaster board to make them more of an outside room than just a place to sit in the summer. Add some bright paint and pictures and it will feel like a part of your home in the garden.
- Do not use it for storage – This happens more than we’d like, its easy to just pop the garden dining set in there and a couple of the kids toys and before you know it you’ve just got a glass fronted shed! Keep the summer house as it is supposed to be and get the most use out of it.
